Today proved my point exactly. It all comes out in the wash. People don’t care really. So why do we bother to sack them in the first place?!
Once upon a time, about six years ago, a man who presented a popular news quiz show was alleged to have taken cocaine and ‘encountered’ prostitutes. No way could he stay in his job at the BBC. Off he toddled.
Once upon a time, about three weeks ago, a man with who likes to sleazily and rather patronisingly (’but it’s not because I’ve got a wife’) interview pretty actresses and get paid lots of money for it, went a tad too far larking about in the radio recording studio. No way could he stay in his job at the BBC (well, until three ‘unconfirmed’ months later). Off he toddled…
Man number two was supposed to host a prestigious comedy award. But he’s been naughty! Oh no! Oh it’s ok, man number one was naughty longer ago than that. He can host it! Problem solved…
Seeing a pattern here? Huh?
